Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device, 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width consisting of a green palm wreath supporting a silver gray sword with a brown grip with point up, overall a black diamond short axis vertical bearing a gold sunburst. Around the sides, bottom and behind the sword grip a black scroll inscribed "SUNSHINE DIAMOND" in gold letters.

Symbolism
The diamond shape is adapted from the Finance Corps branch insignia. The sunburst on the diamond reflects the unit's motto, "Sunshine Diamond." Black stands for solvency or being in the "black" financially. The palm, symbol of victory, with the sun represents the unit's home state of Florida. The sword symbolizes the military aspect of the group's mission.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 23 December 2004.
